You want woods, water, peace and quiet?

Surely you have already looked at brochures, surfed various sites, compared things you have heard with maps, and yet still have difficulties making a decision.
I would like to give you some additional information so that you might perhaps enjoy some anticipation and whole-heartedly make a decision in good conscience.

Krienke 7 -
the location:

A part of the village of Kratzeburg, rural in the truest sense of the word. But therefore in the midst of an area of woods and meadows, with fields hither and yon, and the meandering Havel river which has its lakes of origin in the area and which becomes quite sizable when it reaches Berlin.
In your wanderings you will meet the creeks, streams and chains of lakes that flow into the river.
Doesn't that inspire desire for a boat trip?

You can book that at various places in the area, as well as bicycles, horse drawn wagons, guided wanderings, fishing permits (don't forget your fishing license) etc.

Hobby ornithologists have registered 85 bird species in the National Park around Krienke and every year they come back to the sanctuary as an excellent place for spotting birds and taking pictures.

If you order good weather before your trip you can count on the water temperature being an average of 18 degrees Celsius. A sandy bathing beach is 10 minutes by foot from the house. There are other bathing places, depending on your taste, at various spots along the lake banks.

Should you wish to take much time for tours in the vicinity, a recommended map of the Müritz National Park (scale 1:50,000) is available. Indeed in general the location is best described as the "Müritz National Park" since Krienke is in the midst thereof. So you have the possibility of exploring the whole area while living away from streams of tourists.

The nearby towns of Waren, Neustrelitz and Röbel offer all sorts of things to explore and enjoy, including the Müritz Thermal Baths in Röbel and a pleasant sauna in Wesenberg.

Krienke 7 - the village:

The village of Krienke - which is old dialect for "moist meadow" - consists of 15 places which were founded as small farm yards or homes.

Whereas the village provided home, bread and work for 153 people in the first years after the end of the war, over time many moved off the land into cities. Today there are about 5 families that live here permanently, with other residents here on weekends.

Slowly but continuously, with all the advantages and disadvantages, the infrastructure was developed. Electricity arrived in 1932, potable water mains in 1974, a telephone for each in 1993. In 1996 the access road to Krienke was paved. Only in 2004 the previously typical Meckelburgish sand street through the village was hardened.

Much has also been done to make Krienke reachable - via the federal Autobahn 24 (BAB 24) take the exit to Röbel and then over first class roads through the towns of Rechlin and Boek.
If coming from Neustrelitz (via B 198 in direction of Waren) go via Kratzeburg and then upon entering Granzin turn left and follow the asphalt road to the end.

In Krienke drive to the right past the village oak tree and park under the shadowy chestnut trees immediately past the bust stop.

The closest train stations are in Neustrelitz (DB-RE, CONNEX) and Kratzeburg (DB-RE, OME) from where, if arranged in advance, we could pick you up. There are nearly 60 min to go by train from Berlin for about 19,-€.
Please note, that there are no official bus relations to Krienke.
Despite that, you have the opportunity to use the school busses to Neustrelitz, or the nearest official bus station Granzin (3 km) 3 times the day.

At this point we should not fail to mention what the village does not have: there is no restaurant or permanent store in Krienke.

But you do not need to do without bread and baked goods since the bakery van stops in front of the house 3 times a week. There are dining establishments of various kinds in the surroundings of 2-5 km.

Krienke 7 - the vacation home:

Your vacation domicile is a typical three sided farm yard, open to the south, with a house, stall and barn. We have made the effort to give the ensemble, built around 1870 and extended in 1911, some of its original character back. Lime walls were maintained, structural beams laid free, and some furniture from the 1920's included. The wood floors in the living room and bed room are from the "old" times.

Your vacation home is appointed with appliances and all you need for a pleasant visit without having to travel with large trunks.
If you wish, we could also take care of a first food shopping so you can "survive" in your first week of vacation.

If there is the particular need, there is the possibility of adding sleeping place in the living room by using the fold-out couch, or using additional space in the attic.

Along with the house there is some 5000 square meters of meadow / garden that is available for you to "find your place".

Enjoy the fresh air and quiet in the non-smoking ambiance of our home.
